After confirming captures of Antonio Nocerino and Marco Borriello last weekend, West Ham United have clinched their sixth signing of the month, Columbian international left back Pablo Armero and like most of the other new boys, he has arrived in East London on a loan deal until the end of the current campaign.

Manager Sam Allardyce stated in his pre-match news conference on Monday ahead of the goalless draw at Chelsea two days later, that the Italian pair would be his last signings this month but due to the injuries suffered by both Mohamed Diame and Joey O'Brien at Stamford Bridge, the manager has had to make two more late moves into the transfer market in the search for replacements. He has brought in midfielder Abdul Razak and today he went back to Italy to secure the signing of Armero from SSC Napoli.

It was left to assistant manager Neil McDonald to talk to the assembled media this morning ahead of this weekend visit of Swansea City to Upton Park and he wasn't giving anything away with regards to further transfer news.

It would seem that the deal wasn't done in time for Armero to feature against the Swans as McDonald suggested that the defensive options were the choice between Roger Johnson, George McCartney and Razvan Rat but all Hammers' fans can do is wait and see.
