Mark Noble, a man often pictured playing in the rain (don't ask us why), has hit out at the loss of Alan Curbishley so early in the season.

The England Under-21 lover and player believed the club was going places under the previous manager, and is disappointed to see him go.

"Alan is a proud man and I don't know what was going on. But it is important for us to get it sorted soon.

"Without the injuries last year and if a couple of results had gone our way, we could have changed things.

"We finished 10th and that was always going to be a stepping stone - we've had a our best start in nine years and hopefully that will continue."

Noble is away with England at Wembley at the moment (well, hardly away, probably even closer to his house. Might even be able to walk home after the match), and seems glad to be away from the whole thing.

"Perhaps it's better that I am with the under-21s so I don't have to worry about anything going on at the club," he said, giving a clue that he indeed might be happy to be away from the whole thing.

What about the children? Has nobody considered the children of the club in this messy divorce?
