Stephen Appiah could have his head turned by the interests of Arsenal if reports of the club's interest are confirmed.

With Wenger being short in midfield but not bringing in any reinforcements, Appiah could well be the solution.

In July 2007 the midfielder said: “No deal has been done yet but 50 per cent of me is coming to Arsenal.

Champion's League

“Clubs like AS Roma, Juventus and Marseille all want me. But I don’t want to go to Italy again.

“I prefer Arsenal — they are my No 1 choice.”

With Torino still very much in the chase for the midfielder as well, along with Premier League club Portsmouth also reported to be involved, this is a deal far from done.

Of course he could just give up on footie altogether...easily done, eh?
