The January transfer window has only been open a matter of days and already West Ham United have brought in their third signing. They have agreed a six-month loan deal for Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh.

Before he joined the Gunners, Chamakh had been linked with the Hammers when Gianfranco Zola was in charge in East London but instead chose the Emirates Stadium over Upton Park.

He told the club's official website. "I am very happy to be here, I want to play and give my best for this team. I can bring my heading, some goals and we'll see what else".

The deal wasn't secured in time for the Moroccan front man to be considered in Sam Allardyce's match day squad for this weekend's FA Cup third round tie at home to Manchester United but he could feature when the East Londoners go to Sunderland in the Barclays Premier League on 12 January.
