Since the play-off final on Saturday, in which West Ham United defeated Blackpool 2-1, there has been plenty of speculation surrounding the club with regards to potential moves in and out of the club in preparation for the new season in August.

It was speculated yesterday that Sam Allardyce
would kick-off a reshuffle of his squad and today six players have been told that their contracts would not be renewed when their current deals expire. These are Julien Faubert, Abdoulaye Faye, John Carew, Oliver Lee, Papa Bouba Diop and Frank Nouble.

It has been reported that the Hammers boss would be interested in Sunderland's George McCartney, who has spent the last season on loan with the Hammers, while there are potential returns to Upton Park for former schoolboy Kieran Richardson and former midfielder Joe Cole who is currently with Liverpool.

While there is doubt over whether goalkeeper Robert Green will sign a new contract, the manager has been linked with a number of possible replacements including Scotland international Craig Gordon, former Hammers loanee Manuel Almunia and his Arsenal colleague Lukasz Fabianski. While Blackburn keeper Paul Robinson has also been mentioned.
There has also been interest in another Arsenal name, striker Marouane Chamakh, who was linked with a move to East London during Gianfranco Zola's time at the club.

There have also been muted reports today that January transfer window recruit Ricardo Vaz Te, who ensured the East London club's place in next season's Barclays Premier League, could be interested in a move back to Portugal if an offer came in, but personally I would not read too much into these rumours.
