With the 2011/12 football season drawing to a close and the summer transfer window soon to be open for business, according to the daily Star West Ham United have joined the race to sign Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskalienen, with Queens Park Rangers and West Bromwich Albion also believed to be interested.

Jaaskalienen will be out of contract at the Reebok stadium at the end of the season and is currently out of favour, with manager Owen Coyle preferring to start youngster Adam Bogdan. Jaaskalienen's future is largely dependent on whether the Lancashire club are relegated, but even if they do manage to avoid the drop, the article suggests that the finish stopper might be ready to move on regardless as he has spent the last 15 years with the Trotters.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce worked with the keeper during his time at Bolton and if the player was to move on then reigniting that relationship might sway his decision in the East London club's favour. The move might also be dependent on whether the Hammers do return to the Barclays Premier League at the first attempt.
