Hammers move close to deal

With the transfer window due to close at 11pm, Sam Allardyce could finally be nearer to finding a striker as it is understood that West Ham United are in negotiations with Italian club Genoa to sign Ze Eduardo.

A move for the player would initially be a loan until the end of the current season with a view to a permanent switch in the summer.

The striker will fly into London today to have a medical with the Hammers ahead of his proposed move to Upton Park.

It seems that this name has come out of the woodwork but could he be an inspired signing, or have us Hammers' fans seen too many of these players who think they can still cut it at a decent level of the game in recent years? We will all have to watch this space!!
