After confirming a deal to bring in former Manchester United trainee Joe Dixon on a two-month contract on Wednesday, today's Sun carries a story linking West Ham United as the latest club to be chasing Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic.

Sam Allardyce is reported to have made a £6m bid for the striker as he looks to add more firepower to a squad that currently lies in 2nd in the npower championship table, but Ibrox boss' Ally McCoist has moved quickly to reject these suggestions saying that the East London club have made no such offer.

The Croatian has scored 17 goals for Rangers this season and is also linked with moves to Qeens Park Rangers and West Bromwich Albion.

With only 12 days to go before the window closes, it seems that the Hammers are no closer to finding a prolific striker.
