Having been linked with a move to Upton Park for some time now, it seems that Sam Allardyce is the man to finally bring from Essex to East London the Southend United youngster Kane Ferdinand, brother of former Hammers' striker Les Ferdinand, according to today's Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old could be the fourth member of the Ferdinand family to play in East London, after both his cousins (Rio and Anton) were brought up through the club's Youth Academy and Les was signed on a short-term deal in the 2002/03 season from London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The Hammers were then under the stewardship of Glenn Roeder.

If this speculation about a move for the midfielder was to come true in January, then a £500,000 offer is being prepared.
