Although the transfer window has closed and won't reopen again until January, talksport.co.uk reports that West Ham United are one of a number of clubs chasing AZ Alkmaar midfielder Rasmus Elm, as Sam Allardyce still wants to strengthen his squad if the club are to look for an immediate return to the Barclays Premier League.

It is not the first time that the swedish international has been linked with a move to Upton Park as he was speculated as one of the players to move to East London this summer had Avram Grant remained as manager.

Of course, it is only October, so there is a lot of speculating to be done and things may change, but at this moment in time it seems that Allardyce may also be keen to add the player to his squad.
