According to, West Ham United are poised to let defender Herita Ilunga join fellow Championship side Doncaster Rovers on a three-month loan.

Since the sacking of Sean O'Driscoll on September 23 and subsequently appointing former Wrexham manager Dean Saunders, Rovers form has taken an upturn, with wins over Crystal Palace and Peterborough United together with a draw against Yorkshire rivals Hull City.

Ilunga has not played since West Ham's shock exit from the Carling cup at the hands of Aldershot Town as he has been replaced at right-back by George McCartney.

The player was even linked with moves to Turkey and Scotland on transfer deadline day but by the deadline of 11pm no move materialised to either club.

Doncaster are currently just outside of the bottom three and Saunders is interested in Ilunga as he looks to bolster his defensive options.
