Following reports on Friday that Turkish club Galatasaray were ready to make an undisclosed bid for West Ham United striker Carlton Cole the Daily Mail has now learned that this bid has been rejected by the East London club. The bid itself was reported to be £4 million and the Hammers swiftly turned the offer down because Sam Allardyce will now not have enough time to replace the striker should it have been accepted and he moved on.
The reports on Friday seemed to suggest that Cole would be keen on the move abroad, but the Mail's article said that Cole would rather stay in London. Cole is not the first Hammers' player to reject interest from Turkey however, as Scott Parker who has now departed for Tottenham was approached by Fenerbahce which the East Londoners had apparently accepted on 9 July but then that day's edition of the Daily Mail reported that Parker himself rejected the chance to move abroad.
