It looked as if this site may have got in a little early with the news that Guy Demel had signed for West Ham United on a two-year deal, as at around 21.30 Sky Sports News had confirmed.

Even before that has happened though Burnley completed the signing of Junior Stanislas, who had been the subject of speculation throughout the past week.

Stanislas was the only permanent signing to leave Upton Park on transfer deadline day but Demel followed the likes of Henri Lansbury and David Bentley to the Boleyn Ground.

Fans need not worry though as there are only 121 days before it all starts again and managers can add to their squads once more.Football league clubs however still have the loan window but this should not be as stressful for the 72 league clubs that can do deals as it is only for a day and not three-months.
