After agreeing a fee on Tuesday, Carlton Cole's move to Stoke City from West Ham United is now off, several of todays newspapers have reported. Rumours first circulated about Stoke's move for Cole last Friday when it was reported that the striker would be about to leave Upton Park and had rejected a move to QPR in preference for a move to Staffordshire.
It is believed that Tony Pulis had turned his attentions to the striker after seeing his bid for Birmingham City's Cameron Jerome rejected. It now seems that Cole won't agree personal terms because of comments made by Potters' Chairman Peter Coates about Cole's injury record. discuss this story in our forum.
