If we don't make the Champs he will be off can't blame him he will do well in a higher league Oxford are scared stiff of him and the Ref let them off lightly with their fouling. Let's hope some of our other players can be as dynamic as him on Monday night. We can win this one if we turn our power into goals we finished strongly and I think we have the advantage of a big squad

the one thing we do have is that we are solvent and do not have to let anyone go. I wonder how many champ clubs will be able to offer us enough to take him away, their finances are almost universally shocking and made far worse by Covid. Unless a wage cap comes in immediately we are in a very good position to do some serious shopping for players.

Indeed Hammie. However new wage cap would mean them reflecting on future lifestyles. They need to get themselves in a proper mindset if they want a wage coming in.

If we were to go up who could even get near making it in the Champ? Curtis...... Harness? Seddon (not our player I know)? Marquis if anyone had a clue how to create in this team? Surely that's it and it's stretching the imagination a bit after Curtis. However, Middlesbro-Hull was a shocking match. We can play at that standard.

Forever, I'd add Bass (potential for even higher than that), McGillivray (Scottish national team is probably championship level) & Naylor (already proven at that level) to that list. And more controversially I've always though the championship would suit Close better than Lg1 & 2 and he could possibly step up. And as a squad member Williams has already played more than 60 games in the championship, admittedly mostly for struggling teams.

The gap between the bottom third of the Championship and top of Lge 1 is not that great. It's when you want to go higher than that that the gap gets bigger.

In the unlikely event that we do go up, we should be able to finish above:
Coventry
Rotherham

and 1 more from
Luton
Barnsley
Stoke
Wigan
Charlton
Hull
Huddersfield
Birmingham
Middlesboro

Rumour has it that another championship team is going into administration this month.

There are some sh;t teams in the championship on the slide. Look at how much millwall improved when they got Thompson in the side.

We are weaker than last years team though. Still havenít replaced Ben Thompson and now also need 2 CBís and a RB as our main priority, plus a new manager hopefully.

Surely we need a creative midfielder of sorts.

Whats yer thoughts on Marquis. Hes absolute pony in my books. He's like a headless chicken. No idea

Shopping list priorities must surely be a right back, three centre backs, a creative midfielder, a box to box midfielder, and a goal poacher (someone like Chaplin ?)

Nearly a new team then, Deep, but I do agree with all those positions.

Hope Jacket has noted that Oxford will look at nullifying the threat posed by Curtis and stopping his supply so he had better make other plans for Mondays game.
