Three months on and absolutely no change in tactics. Hoof it to the poor Muppet tasked with winning it and hope to god Curtis does something once in the game to win it. That game was as bad as Sunderland if not worse because of the preparation time that jackett has had this time.

Same old, same old.

As soon as i saw the team i knew we were looking at a bore draw. A right winger at right back, our best left back benched. Our Captain, also benched. Strange decisions? Not for Kenny - his selections are consistently baffling, so no one should really be surprised.

No disrespect to the lads that played, I know they did their best, but you could see before kick off that we would struggle with a different set up.

We looked good in patches - going forward in the first half - but we were shockingly wide open to a counter attack. There goal being a good example.Right winger Right back way out of position, and didn't take a yellow like their guy did on Curtis in the 2nd half - and Bass was hopeless on that one, to be honest.

So disappointing. Looks like we've blown another play offs, but you never know!

But on the upside, we weren't a total disaster on a Fleetwood-scale.

Eggybread

Your rant would be so much more powerful if McCrorie had ever played right wing. Just once in his life would have done.

It really wasn't that bad? Pretty standard Jacketball after going 1-0 up, but I thought overall we had the better of it in the second half. We're well in it, home advantage is clearly gone and we may have done well to avoid worse, considering what happened at Fleetwood

I think the SKY comment sums up Jacketball to a tee "Disciplined but Uninspiring" this is exactly how our performance have been since he has been here. This thought occurred to me last night a team is molded around the manager's characteristics. The Oxford team play adventurous open football like their manager. Jacket is definately uninspiring the way he acts and watches motionless with his arms folded couldn't tell him apart from the cardboard cut outs.

We were decent until we scored then we done the usual sit back. Everyone knows how we're going to play, there's never any variation under Mr 1dimensional. Hopefully we can nick it on Monday but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I still think we were poor apart from the first 30 mins.

I know we didn't lose but I dont think we got enough about us to beat Oxford at theirs. Another fcuking year playing in L 1. I'm gutted

I thought Brown and our midfield did a decent job of nullifying Oxford's threat. Their goal came from a mistake by McCrorie (who shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11) losing the ball and Harness not covering him (he was in the middle of the pitch instead of wide)

Other than that we had the best chances and were unfortunate not to have 2 penalties.

The midfield worked pretty well and we created decent chances while Oxford had barely any.

Change McCrorie for Bolton, Williams for Harness and Marquis for Harrison. The latter two to come on as impact subs. We still have a very good chance, the problem we have is if we go ahead Kenny tends to get us to sit back. I'd ignore those tactics if I was captain.

I agree Jizz. Paradoxically you fear taking the lead because you know what will happen.

Marquis hardly touched the ball. Kenny should be sacked for wasting money signing him, He's absolutely pants.

I'm sure Marquis would have loved to have touched the ball. If he doesn't get the service, what can he do?

That's most likely why pitman fell out with kenny, as he would force the issue by dropping deeper and deeper to collect the ball.

There isn't enough creativity from the midfield 5 to bring the lone striker into play.

IMO neither Marquis nor Harrison do as good a job of the lone striker role the way KJ plays it as Hawkins did last year. It maybe that he had both Curtis & Lowe feeding off him, but for all his lack of finishing prowess the team did better with him there than the better finishers.
