More pathetic "News"

Covering the Glasgow stabbings they drag some bloke off the street to tell us what he saw, he then tells us there were heavily armed police there and people and Police milling around, this while showing mobile phone footage of the scene at the time.

It added nothing to the coverage of the event.

I call the early morning show the air head hour.

How long would the Beeb survive if we weren't forced to pay for it?

Did you compare it with ITV or Sky ?

That’s why they should make it a subscription service Cressers, then we’d see how many people were prepared to pay for the garbage they put out.

As for ITV and Sky Isaac, they are as bad but you are not coerced into paying for them are you?

This country is crying out for some kind of neutral news service that just gives the facts, without the opinion of ‘experts’ or political pundits.

Getting back to the BBC, my only contact with them is Radio 2, and I’m just waiting to see if they can have a news bulletin that doesn’t mention George Floyd. I guess it will happen one day.

Guff, ITV's terrestrial - you can't get that, so how do you know?

A neutral news service based on your criteria Gaffer would mean something like Fox news 24/7.
I can agree that the BBC's output has digressed over the years and for me it has clear faults but it will be missed if it goes.

Hello jezzer, no Fox wouldn’t cut it because it’s too partisan. You seemed to deliberately miss the ‘neutral’ bit. 😁

The USA and Australia do at least have tv stations which reflect each side of the aisle, we do not. However, this just emphasises division, which isn’t ideal.

So a NEUTRAL service is what we need.

As for the BBC, I ditched it a while ago and haven’t missed it for a minute.

Some of their dramas are excellent...the recent one on BBC3 "Back to Life" was superb, but their lefty bias on reporting and comment makes me heave. I'm going to stop paying the licence fee and see what happens.

They all put out YouTube content Tuffers, so I check them from time to time to see if they have got any better.

As long as you don’t watch them live you don’t need a licence.

Thanks for your concern though 😁.

Yes that is true Bluetag, I was once stuck in Adelaide with a sick family member for weeks, and had the misfortune to watch quite a bit of it.

US tv is generally crap too.

That is not relevant to the argument though is it? We are talking about dissemination if ‘news’ and political ideas, not the rest of the output.
