Bass or McG

Weíve seen Bass a few times now. Does he deserve the no.1 billing?

Aside from his longer kicks (forgiving the 1 iffy one today) he doesnít seem to offer any more than McG. I thought last Sat he was a little unsettling, but today his handling was fine, though he seemed a bit bamboozled by their first shot on target.

Given McG had done nothing to lose his place, where is the big gain? Does McG have a contractual clause that will cost the club, like Pitman allegedly does? Are they managing his games to suit and looking to cash in come the summer? McG must have had his nose put out of joint by the whole thing; itís certainly not helping his international chances.

I think he has proved he is good enough to become our number one in the future, maybe even as soon as next season. But right now I think it's time to bring back McGillivray.

I think Bass is a half decent keeper. Still very young and hasnít made too many mistakes.

In my own cynical opinion I think Kenny dropped MacG when the Rangers interest cropped up. Put him back in his box.

Similar to the Chaplin discussion, you have to play games in order to improve. I think itís quite likely MaG will come back into the side before the end of the season.

Bring back Mac, on the basis of results?

Bass could be in the side for personality reasons too. Not just playing ability that makes a team.

Not a big fan of Kennys but I think this was a big shout he got right. Mcg had become very hesitant coming off his line and was causing confusion with the defence. Maybe the Scotland and Rangers business turned his head

Not many goalies in the top 4 Leagues have 2 assists to their name.

He kicks well out of his area, leading to 2 goals for Pompey.
He and Seddon are the catalysts fo Pompeyís wins.
8 assists between them in 5 games.

McG. Bass got nowhere near their first goal yesterday from long range and nowhere near top corner.
