who cares. It's still a meaningless trophy no matter how many times we win it.Hopefully we get promoted and not have to bother with it again.

Nothing is meaningless. If it's only a game of tiddlywinks, I wanna win it!

Itís not meaningless, we get some dosh out of it and, potentially, a visit to Wembley.

If you are in a competition you want to win it, end of story.

Rare I totally agree with you Gaffer but I do on this. Final last year was a great day out. Not that many chances to play at Wembley in their careers for our players either.

If only a few more had supported in earlier rounds and not just on the big day out.Been to all the early rounds and disappointed that the ",die hards" only appear for the glory days
Then we might have made a few more Bob for the kitty

IF,we get past Exeter and have to play Leicester in the final, what are the chances of taking another 40,000 ?

If that ends up being the final I'd guess the efl/fa would hope we can take 80000 to Wembley! How many realistically would you expect Leicester to take, given they could well have a first team match on the same day, surely they wouldn't sell more than a couple of thousand at most.

IF we get to the final bearing in mind that the other teams would not exceed 10000 (Newport maybe more) we could potentially get 50000 tickets. Not sure we could take that many though as most day trippers would have had their fill last year against Sunderland!

I'm sure any of the 250K who were at Southsea Common on 2008 will be rushing to fill our end.

I don't have a problem with 1000's of folk going to Wembley who seldom visit the Park as long as folks who do go a couple of times a season or more do get a ticket. Something like a Wembley trip could easily start a passion for Pompey for some of those JCL "glory hunters". If we are able to beat Exeter ( not a forgone conclusion by a long chalk) I'm sure EVERYONE who wants to go to wembley will be able to get a ticket

Was hoping not to get Exeter and then play them in the final, but it is what it is and they will certainly give us a game at Fratton then were we to win we will see who we play, I prefer the taffs we like doing their teams at Wembley

Attend around 25 games a season for last 48 years. I donít go to EFL matches but did attend last seasonís final and might go again if we are there this season. Apparently in some peopleís eyes I am a glory hunter. You gotta laugh at folk. Maybe only those 1500 or so who have attended all the home games should be allowed Wembley tickets... would make Pompey look pretty stupid wouldnít it.

What happened to boycotting this competition because of all the Prem U23 teams?

5000 Picket breakers at the park to watch us in the last round[rle]

Iíd feel robbed if a prem youth team got to Wembley, let alone won it.

Not really a youth team, but I totally agree with you Peds.
Maybe this will be the last year as I cannot see any advantage to anyone having them in the compo

Beware. Just like last season we're having to play too many matches. Is promotion the main aim? Do we have enough good cover for injuries eg who is there to replace Naylor in the essential role he plays ? Will tiredness become a factor by May? I'm worried.

But pedalo wouldn't you prefer to see that actually happen one season and then see what's made of it. Leicester making the final would automatically make any attendance very poor, especially compared to last seasons final and even more so if we lose to Exeter. An Exeter v Leicester final would struggle to make 15000!

All the time the youth sides are doing poorly, which is what the majority have done up to now, its not going to look like much of an issue and that would be the efl/fa arguement for having them in the competition!

We've got enough strength in depth to allay any burn out worries, match tiredness should only be a short term issue unless it's muscle fatigue but as I said Kenny has plenty of rotation options. Last season the team picked itself week in and week out until we had a rush of injuries and then we had players coming in cold, we've hardly played the same eleven again at any time this season, in fact I don't think it's happened once and I think Kenny has learnt not to rely too heavily on the same eleven choosing to rotate regularly.
