Not normally a Fratton Ender, having spent the last 40 years in the North Stand, but why on earth was the netting left up in front of the Fratton End against Scunthorpe.

Getting there 10 minutes before KO, in a family group of four, we sat down assuming the netting in front would be taken down. Come the start of the game and it wass still in place. By then no real chance to move our group as FE was relatively full once you headed centrally and away from netting.Took me back to the olden days of watching through wire fences.

At half time stewards took down the netting. It seems to me it was just total incompetence with those responsible forgetting to down it after the keepers warm up.

Wouldn't be Pompey without a bit of Sunday pub team organisation.

Also took about 10 mijutes before removing the "beware flying balls" A signs. They could have been dangerous for a player.

Apparently, Pitman has been demoted to “nets and signs” duty, but threw a hissy and threw tea cups. In the confusion and delay, they got left out.
