If anyone ever again suggests on here that Raggett is a footballer I swear i shall blow my top. What a useless piece of garbage.

Hawkins available, maybe at half time?
Marquis on at half time also.
Change back to normal formation.

He's got a f*ckin good agent that's all I can say. How he's not still playing non-league or lower is beyond me. Definitely need a decent centre back in the January window.

Meanwhile, Ben 'teflon' close continues on his merry little path. You don't win too many games when you start them with 10 players.

Completely dominating until their goal. Incredibly frustrating. Teams know to just lump it towards Raggett and sooner or later (usually sooner) heíll fŁck up and youíll have a goal.

I miss the days when it was Burgess we were worried about.

I feel sorry for raggett. The consequences of jackettball is that there is great emphasis on the defense. Jacketball is about nicking a lead whenever and relying on the defence to repel the onslaught. Last year, we had a £2 million defender who played out of his skin and jacketball got some headway. This year he replaced him with an inexperienced kid and a midfielder he plays in defence. He makes them play until they drop.

With no midfield protection, anybody will struggle to not make a mistake - even Clarke suffered under jacketball - so to expect a young defender to get on like that is so unfair.

Instead let's look at our wonderful manager who, in view of our frailties in defence and non existent midfield puts a striker on!

Guess it's easier to get the player since we all know the manager (and close) are untouchable.

Iím not sure the midfield could do much about the long ball punted from inside The Dons half for Raggett to cushion perfectly into their strikers path.

Close got caught in possession for their 3rd but youíd expect at least one defender to be able to make a challenge ffs.

Hawkins? Replacing anybody in defence, has everyone gone fkin retarded? Did you not see his last performance as a centre half,?his positional sense is of schoolboy stuff at best.

Far be it for me to defend Jackett, PompeyLor, because Iíve been on the jacket out side of the fence all season but Raggett is 25. Should be at his prime... maybe he is.. Maybe he should find a diffferent career? However, I entirely take your point about his tactics killing players.

O.k. we all need to calm down on here! We've known all season our defence has been rubbish & getting in 2 x CBs in Raggett & Downing to replace Clarke & cover for Whatmough seemed o.k. on paper as both had played at Championship level but in practice just Not good enough.

So as soon as the window opens on Jan 1 we must demand at least one proven quality CB, a quality box to box midfielder with good passing completion ability & a versatile defender who can play at both FB & CB if required. We're all pinning on hopes on Jack who is without doubt our best CB but has a very high injury rate. When he does come back I'd like to see us play 3-5-2 again.1 up front we all know is so negative & typical of KJ who needs to change his mentality or pay the price.

Got to agree on Raggett, I too hreard the comment on the Radio about MK Dons players scenting blood every time he was on or near the ball.

Best to be on his way quietly back to Norfolk ASAP, he could enjoy National League or similar, If I were him i would want out ASAP, just like us. Olly Hawkins back in defence oh dear until he stops sulking about this no way Jose.

In his defence the only thing I'd say is that he had an horrific injury at Norwich & was loaned out to us to aid his rehabilitation.
He's obviously still lacking confidence after the injury. No one to blame really with KJ taking a chance on him which was a 50:50 one.

One of the most uncomfortable on the ball defenders I have seen turn out for us and his heading reminds me of Sonko. You just don't know where it's gonna go!

But berating him for his limits isn't going to make him any better.

Oli isn't the answer either. We couldn't trust him to put a clean challenge inside the box in the end. He is never going to be a defender.

It's always tough to sign decent players in January as you're only going to be able to sign players who aren't playing for their clubs now. So to find a proven centre back, quality box to box midfielder and a defender who can play anywhere at the back I'd guess is highly unlikely to happen. The best we'll get is a few more loans from prem/championship clubs of youngsters we have never heard of!

If he has then he is Feckin superman!
The trouncing he has received here is terrible.
His football isn't that of Clarke and Burgess can take great credit in covering for the lad but he is gaining in confidence and now showing some good form.
There is a lot of humble pie about and we as fans must take a flecking huge slice of it.
This thread I agreed with and still have trepidation when he's near the ball but sh1t, he deserves our support just like the rest of them get.

Sergio Raggett!

Played very well against Blunderland. Heís improved in attacking set pieces too. I think it was against Barnsley, they were so worried about wrestling and blocking him that it allowed Burgess in for an unmarked header.

You get nervous every time the ball goes near him defensively, but to be fair to him heís whole-hearted and very resilient.

We as fans react to what we see on the pitch.

This thread was started after a number of poor performances by Raggett, deteriorating each game upto MK Dons, where he was utter utter shyte.

Heís definitely improved but he deserved the verbal battering on here that day based on his performance.

Very glad heís improving his form. Iím still unconvinced but Iím glad for all our sakes heís got better.

Other players similarly castigated included Michael Smith - knocking them in for table toppers Rotherham. I think people look at a player & if they donít necessarily look the part it influences opinions unfairly.

Sorry but Smith missed 3 open goals on the opening day of season when Carlisle under kelth curle played a whole half down to 10 men. They never got out of their half and sitting in the fratton end level with the left hand post I watched Smith miss the worst of the 3 from just 4 yards and no one to stop it going in. He had connected but put it wide and needed a whole in the ground to open up for him. I still get Fecked off about that miss. He will never be forgiven for that miss by me
