Obviously got fed up defending KJ that he's brought the gimp along. Ground issues explained (sort of), however, Johnny Moore needs to ask Jackett the questions we would like answered such as; why is the football we play sooo boring?,why do you persist with 4231 and Ben Close as a defensive midfielder ?, why do we not play with 2 out and out strikers especially at home?, why are we defensively worse off after you had the summer to rebuild? Any of those questions answered by Jackett would be a start

He got very rattled when asked about the Fratton end roof. Didn’t help his cause with Brown going: “You’ve sold ‘em the dream Mark” [cr] FAF

Ask him why we play so farkin defensively. We’re just inviting them on to us again. When will he learn, we’ve conceded so many late goals doing that ffs

I'm sure none of us like all the answers. But compared to growing up with deacon and hearing nothing at all, a monthly session like this is dreamland! They might want to give Brown a bit of coaching on working with the media though!

You'll never get "Rubber Johnny" to ask the questions that we would all like KJ to be asked ....

Why would he bite the hand that's feeds him?
If I were in Johnny's position, I'd do the same thing

Actually, I was quite impressed with the questions asked.

What has Cannon got to do to get a game?

That was one I was pleased to hear.

I can tell you why we don’t play with ‘2 up top’ .......cos it’s not the 1980’s

What a strange comment SO, what has the decade got to do with anything.

You’ll see two up top playing for Peterborough and they are doing just fine.

in my humble (but qualified ) opinion playing with 2 out and out strikers put's too much pressure on the midfield and reduces possession which the (hated) stats show is more likely to create goals.

Modern formations allow for the incredible fitness levels of players now (particularly wing backs) which creates you far more attacking options. Too much risk created if you load the top line and allow defenders to be bombing on so it forces you to keep those players more focused on their defensive duties which limits the chances created.

Plus (now you have me started) modern centre backs are so mobile and quick the old lump it up to the big fella to knock it down to the other striker doesn't work so well.

Clearly there are always exceptions often resulting from having specific individuals which makes the positives out weigh the risks (eg Jamie Vardy) which is what every manager is trying to balance.

But of course if i knew what i was talking about i wouldn't be typing this on a keyboard i would be on a training ground [:D]

What about 352 or even 433 ? Good enough for prem teams. The problem with Jacketts beloved 4231 is that we only have one decent defensive central midfielder at the club( Naylor) and the longer he persists in playing Close in that role we will always be over powered in midfield. That coupled with who he doesn’t know who to play in the number 10 role puts us at a disadvantage every game.

hard to say given we don't see they other options in training.

Unless KJ is shagging Close i presume with all his years of experience he believes Close will do the job that's asked of him better than the others?
