The only thing stopping Pompey building a decent ground is themselves. The bridge is just the latest in a series of conditions, made by multiple owners over the years, that are designed to delay such a development/cost for as long as possible and keep the fans placated. After all, even if PCC and network rail would bend over and back it, the beauratic process would still take ages to implement. If they were serious, one bridge would never be a deal breaker like it's being painted by the club.

Very interesting informative interview. Didn't realise we were that close to signing Shaun Longstaff on loan last season. I reckon that could have meant definite promotion as we were lacking an attacking midfielder. Let's hope we sign someone similar in January. The ground situation may not be resolved for ages but if we were to manage promotion somehow this season I'm certain it would accelerate matters.

he did say elsewhere that they are sensibly looking at getting the park and ride adapted to drop off at Pompey. I've never understood why they don't do that anyhow. How much demand is there otherwise on a wet November afternoon. It does not help that the park and ride only operates during the day unlike many cities. When I sold programs I used to stand where the special buses from the Hard dropped off. Time to get all those sort of obvious things back, trouble is the govt made the council sell off those services and the private companies are not interested.
