He may be a bit of a scroat, but what he did at Luton was nothing short of impressive, and he shows a hell of a lot more passion that the Beaver. Fans would soon forget his past discretions if he were to replicate at Pompey what he achieved at Luton.

He took over an already good squad with positive momentum. Not so clever at Stoke.

It's quite obvious that Luton was a fluke, he just happened to be the manager. He can fvck right off.

He always seemed to really hate our fans. Especially after the incident when the Luton guy broke his leg down here. No thanks!

Too much of a gamble to get Jones. He got lucky at Luton and found out pdq at stoke

Think it might have been John Sill who set up the Luton team before Jones came along ?

It was indeed John Still, Awford was caretaker before the Welsh weasel took over

Not sure Jones got lucky at Luton. How can you be that successful over 3 consecutive seasons?

He went to Stoke, and just hasn't been able to get enough wins at that level. Rowett was very unlucky to lose his job there after 2 quick defeats. I reckon Jones would be a great fit at Fratton. He would have learnt a lot from his time at a higher level - and crucially plays good attacking football - and develops young players.

Would be really interesting to see what he would do with our motley crew and whether he could turn our fortunes around with this lot?

We could go for Nathe and Sol, the big cuunt little cuunt combo

Unfortunately I think his dodgy past history with us would make it unlikely, but if Jackett canít turn it around Iíd have him in a heartbeat. Seems thereís a lot more wrong at Stoke than just him.

Pompey P8 W2 D3 L3

Something isn't right at Stoke. Jones either thinks he can still turn it around - or he is waiting for a pay-off.

They're meant to be lining up Pulis or Moyes.

I don't care how abrasive he is, or even if he likes us; he improves players and plays attacking football.

Can't believe the amount of pompey fans who seem to really want Jones here. Stoke fan on talksport this morning complaining about him playing a left winger at left back, a defensive midfielder as the no.10 and constantly changing the centre back pairing this season. Sounds pretty similar to a certain KJ at this moment.

They were going well under Mark Hughes for 4 years or so until their form dipped, maybe they should go back for him.

Wrt their current Taff scrote Nathe, he can do one, and not here

I have a cunning plan...

Swap them. Nobody will know that has happened if we put a cardboard cutout of Calamity Kenny on the sideline and hide Jones in the SS bogs. Calamity K never moves anyway so the only way it gets rumbled is if it's windy and the cutout falls over. If it doesn't work we can send Jones back on sale and return and nobody is any the wiser.

That last comment is rather funny. I would add that if a manager wants real longevity at Pompey he is better off coming in as the assistant - then 'taking over' the real job after the fans have sussed out what they really hate about the manager ie whiny scouse voice, talking about his selections like the games are champions league games, not unfolding his arms, visiting the local knocking shop etc. Step up Joe Gallen
