A few tossers acting like tossers is a complete non issue and there are more important things to worry about. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the highlights of their last minute defeat though 😁.

Suppose in this day and age the national media appear shocked that a couple of scummers wind up the Taff opposition fans. Well, they would have had a field day had they been at Ninian Park with Pompey in 82/83. Remember the bulk of our fans singing about Aberfan throughout the game - for those who don't know about it Aberfan was a disaster - yet that sort of singing was the 'norm' for away fans visiting Cardiff in those days!

Strangely, I remember being at a London game at about the same time, and surprisingly seeing visting Cardiff fans getting beaten with police truncheons in their away end for shouting "your gonna get you effin head kicked in". I was only young, but I remember it vividly. Maybe it was just typical local police.

Everybody used to sing that song in the 70’s gulf just like all fans used to sing “you’ll never walk alone and “knees up mother brown” . True story .

Jan 83 & away to Orient, everyone was singing "don't stop you'll get shot" as reference to someone who was shot by the Met the week before for literally doing nothing. The faces on the OB in Smoke was, well lets just say they weren't a happy bunch. Especially when some of the locals picked up on it & joined in.

Exactly this. I hate scum but doing a couple of dins for taking the XXXXXX about a dead footballer is hardly front page stuff. But don't let that get in the way of the nations Faux mourning. Pathetic.

The press just love to prolong things like this with their faux outrage don’t they? They’ve run out of shrine and homage stories, so they need another angle. Sadly, the snowflake generation are more than willing to aid them in their endeavours and join in the fake shock routine. 😎

Every club has them. A claim to the moral high ground is tenuous at best and those of us if a certain vintage will know not to cast stones in glass houses on this issue...

The most interesting thing about that story was why the steward stood two feet away stood there like a lump of meat with mittens and did nothing.

Times change. I was growing up in the 60s and early 70s hooligans and most under 25 used to take the XXXXXX out of service veterans and people mentioning the war. Minutes silences at football were never observed.

No, Dunstable, that is not interesting at all, and the fact that you think it is highlights the problem. Stewards are not there to police thought or ‘hate’ speech, they are there for crowd safety purposes only. Just to clarify that for all the snowflakes, I mean safety in a physical sense, not some airy fairy, ‘safe space’, mental health, ‘validation of existence’ XXXXXX sense. There is virtually no trouble in grounds these days, and any that there is usually involves stewards getting involved when they shouldn’t.

Are you sure Gaff. I believe the stewards roll includes stopping swearing and or other "offensive/disrespectful" activities. But I will stand to be corrected.

If that’s the case their ‘role’ needs to be changed then. They’ve got no chance of achieving any of that anyway, so it’s a token gesture. They are only paid peanuts anyway, so they can’t be expected to carry out the ‘thought police’ role. We’ve got plenty of plod fresh from their ‘inclusiveness’ and ‘hate speech’ training courses to carry out that completely unnecessary task 😎.

Where do the authorities draw the line, though? Is the Defoe song racist abuse? Yes, imo, as what if a BAME family is seated in the away end next to Westwood and his fellow cretins when they are singing? Zero tolerance is, I'm afraid, the easiest way to approach the problem. The authorities can't let go such incidents as the recent racist bating of Sterling at Stamford Bridge, can they? The idiots at St Mary were surely guilty of behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace.

Give if a fecking rest with the BAME XXXXXX Highlander. People are just people, all this categorising sheite is the root cause of the problem. There is no line to be drawn, people should be able to say what they like without the law putting their oar in. Quite why a family of any kind would sit near Westwood and the dins is a mystery on a par with the origin of the universe. ![]()

Gaffer do you go to away games? If the away end is sold out you have to take the seats according to your tickets and can't move. At Crewe a couple of years back, a group sitting directly behind our bell ringer and his bell end pals were pable to move....only because they were Gary Roberts's family and friends and they were able to get transferred to seats near the directors' box. I'm usually lucky to avoid the Westwood crew but my heart sinks when they do (eventually) occupy seats near me.

Highlander, yes I do go to away games, not all of them these days but quite a few. I agree about Westwood and his retards, fortunately they do’t come into the ground until the game is 25 minutes old do they? I’ve never understood travelling all that way and then missing half the game, What XXXXXXes me off is their sense of entitlement, especially if it’s a terrace. They turn up late then barge their way into the middle like they’re royalty or something. They are a complete pain in the backside and we’d be better off without them. Shame because Westwood’s not a bad lad when he’s not paralytic.

Honestly don't know what Stewards are supposed to be there for these days. There's a 20 year old girl with her nails all done and very impractical footwear for the job who works at FP in the C block gangaway. She must be no more than 5 foot 4 and about 7 stone. Tiny little thing. No disrespect intended to her but what exactly is she supposed to do if it kicks off?

Highlander, I hate labels for groups of people (except scammers of course) 😎. The left loves labels but also claims to stand for equality, how can you have equality if you are separating the human race using daft labels? When I meet someone, I just see a person, I don’t see a BAME person or whatever. How can you claim to stand for inclusiveness, which presumably you do Highlander, when you use divisive labels like BAME?

“how can you have equality if you are separating the human race using daft labels?” By expanding our vocabularies to the point where people understand the difference between equality and homogeneity?
