It never rains etc.

Never mind I'm sure Deep will continue to give him 7 out of 10 every week.

Let Dawn here be the first to congratulate Jack on his longest run without injury to date as he makes his way back to the treatment table once again.

However I would say that his transfer value on the books must now be zero-ish

Gotta feel for the lad. Fingers crossed he can come back stronger next year. I prefer if his transfer value is zero. Iíd rather have him playing for Pompey than anyone else

3 breaks eventually did for Andy Awford, feeling similar. Very sad for him but not looking like a long term solution

Doesn't say that he's out for the season, just that he requires micro surgery and until then we wont know how long it'll take before he's back to fitness.

Gutted for the lad, always did his best for us, but 3 serious knee injuries by 22 is a bad sign. Apart from the obvious impact on our season, I just hope he can recover and goes on to have a long enough career to retire.

If we go up and stay up, Havant will have one hell of a player on their hands (for 15 games per season).

Is there even one example of a player who missed this many games and had three major surgeries by the age of 22 and went on to have a decent league football career? I doubt it. Such potential ruined by bad fortune. So sad.

Nice to see a so called supporter mocking one of our best players for having a serious injury. Not content to have a go just once either. FFS Dawn. Thanks for your continued support of our players.

Jack hadn't been at his best in recent weeks and I'm wondering whether he was feeling twinges. This could explain why it was reported we were looking at signing another centre-half. We didn't of course-instead ending up with 4 centre-forwards when we only play 1 up front.

Something changed with Jack after the Blackpool match. He's not looked composed on the ball unless heading it since.

Oxford away was the worst. He has like a 12th man for Oxford that day, head down, long ball to return possession.

How old is he? 3 major knee injuries already. You have to say it doesn't look good for him and no club is going to risk serious money on him. So, that's the good news, cos no one will buy him... he's ours forever!!

Some of the reports are suggesting that Jacks potentially out for some of the next season as well.
If thats true he won't be fully up to speed until the autumn.
So it wouldn't be possible to offload him in the summer even if pompey wanted to.

I want him to stay and have faith he will come back and in summer 2020 pompey wil be getting lots of offers for a classy, still young defender
Oh..and top class bloke

He's a Tom Craddock in waiting.

And he should be held to exactly the same standards of Tom Craddock.

Far too much sentimentality!

Hopefully he will be back at some stage, but I think Jackett will realise that he has been overplayed, and if he can't trust Burgess as back up - then we need another more reliable centre back.

Comparing Whatmough to Craddock Is bullsh1t. Craddock made 9 appearances for Pompey without any impact whatsoever. Whatmough has made 30 appearances this year alone while establishing himself as a key player during a season where we have led the way until recent weeks.

Held to the same standards as Craddock there is no comparison. Craddock never showed anything that made you hope he would return from injury and get back in the team. You can't say the same about Whatmough and others have voiced their wish that he can return and remain injury free as he will be an asset to the team.

Dawn are you really a Pompey fan or do you just hate Whatmough?

Are you sure you like him? In fact who do you actually like in our team because it seems like you just want to mock and be sarcastic in what I think are attempts of humour? (and I'm sure you are familiar with the saying about sarcasm).

Let me put it this way, you started a thread about the Sala plane crash and I fully expected to read some sarcastic or mocking comment about the situation. I was actually surprised that it wasn't.

Probably the second best player the club have produced in the last decade and one of the top five produced in the last 25 years here.

I just have my doubts he can come back again and think it would be irresponsible for any manager with Jack in his squad to rely on him given his track record.

Some people just have dodgy knees and thatís all there is to it.

Many a good footballer has had his career cut short by injury, shame the same is happening to Jack.

Trouble is, his record is such that his continued availability canít be relied on.

Itís a great shame but thatís life.
