But only just after an unimpressive 1-0 win at 10 man Bradford. Sunderland breathing down our necks with a better Goal Difference. Not scoring enough goals which needs to be addressed in the January transfer window.

lets face it, it's the gap between us and third which is important. Peterborough losing makes it a great day in my opinion.

It might seem churlish to have any complaints when we are top and have sensational away form but I have to agree. Chances are not leading to enough goals and, yes, I think a goalscorer in Jan. to keep us there. Eisa on loan? I know nothing about him I have to admit. Pitman for Hawkins sometime soon? Anyway... enjoy being top and let KJ do the worrying :)

Definitely new striker for me. Say what you you want about Hawkins? Works the defenders, wins headers and good hold up play. We can do much better. He is a donkey in front of goal. Pitman seems to have no future at the club so a new striker in January is needed. Someone big fast and can put the ball away.

Winning games 1-0 will do just fine. Sunderland ain’t all that.

We can enjoy the top spot for another fortnight.
Then Sunderland, having played 1 game less than us, are at home to Wycombe.
We, meanwhile, will be in the middle of a fortnight’s mid season break!
Hopefully, Donohue will be fit and eager to return to the side in 3 weeks for our next League game.

I'd be happy with 1-0 against Sunderland and Barnsley.

Sunderland don't bother me, as awful as their fans are. As others have said, all that matters is the gap between us and third. Shame Barnsley won today.

Tom Eaves, the lad from Gillingham who scored a wonder strike at Fratton looks useful.

11 goals in 16 appearances this season, in what is a struggling season. Scored 2 today against Fleetwood.

Big lad so would be OK in our current system as a replacement for Hawkins

95 points will get you promoted, so we need another 57 from 29 games. 1.97 per game. Doable

More worried about Barnsley than Peterborough, shame they won today. Still, grinding out wins and staying top until November, and will still be in the top two whatever happens when we miss our next game.

I'm consoling myself with the idea we're having our wobble, now.

Total disaster! We are XXXXXX crap! If only we were man city and could buy a title or 2. Mind you they've got an easy game tomorrow! [;)]
Well done Pompey, another good result away!
PUP!

Tbf, when you read comments from the competitions fans, there are plenty who are not quite convinced about their own performances.

Just got to keep winning in whatever fashion that works.

grinding out points, Jackett has acknowledged the issue about scoring goals.
So having got a clean sheet, I trust him to keep working and improving the putting chances away. If he can work out how to get Pitman into the team, I'm sure he will.

Hawkins could score 20 goals before Christmas and some fans wouldn't like him.

Eaves is a good shout.... I wouldn't mind Pompey pushing to sign him.

Whoever said Eisa on loan is crazy, hes done nothing.

Hawkins’ all round centre forward play is excellent and if his finishing was better he’d be playing at a higher level. I think someone strong and quick, playing just off him, would score a hatful of goals.

I think Jackett is doing a great job, long may he continue doing so.
