Team for Maidenhead

MacG
Walkes burgess Clarke Haunstrup
Close Rose
Wheeler Evans Dennis
Pitman

Subs:McGee, Lowe, Curtis, Hawkins, Whatmough, Naylor, Thompson N

Should be more than enough to beat Maidenhead. Bring on the big guns if needed 2nd half. Give the main runners a rest

With no game the following week I think we will see almost the same side as yesterday. Maybe pitman in for Hawkins and someone in for Ben Thompson if he isn't allowed to play. I'd be surprised to see more than 2 or 3 changes.

would be an opportunity to try and get the team to play football that gets pitman into the game rather then hoofing it onto his head. Perhaps we could even play our way down the wings and cross rather than up the middle? Maidenhead certainly won't be expecting that to happen.

Maidenhead are 15-0 down since the cup draw was made with three losses including a loss to the bottom side Saturday. Either they've taken their eye of the league fixtures or are just in an awful run of form. Either way we should be looking at a comfortable win and a few goals.

Does the fa cup ever work like that though?

Just read the reserves got spanked 4-0 by Wimbledon and a number of the players in my provisional team started. Disappointing... Would now expect a much stronger team to be fielded

Mason injured. Might as well send him back for all the use he has been. I'm expecting a strong side Saturday. Better to keep them match fit and keep the momentum going rather than resting too many I would think. Of course, I'll think different Monday if we've had 2 sent off and Clarke and Lowe have picked up long-term injuries!!!

Injuries to key players is the obvious risk.
Non-league sides often chop down players rather than tackle fairly.
Their timing of tackles is often a couple of seconds out.
Maidenhead have had 2 red cards in the past 2 games
Wingers like Curtis and Lowe will be prime targets

I reckon it will be
MacG
Thompson Burgess Clarke brown
Close Naylor
Lowe Evans wheeler
Pitman

That's if wheeler is allowed to play. If he's not then curtis.

Probably be the same side with pitman coming on for Hawkins on the hour.lowe and Curtis crawling through to the end with the rest of the bench permanently resigned to never getting on the pitch.

All the loanees been given permission to play so maybe Ben Thompson will still play. With the checkatrade game Tuesday id imagine this will be the game KJ will rest players for and still go strong against Maidenhead with the majority of that side not having a game for two weeks after.

Be Great to have a nice run in the F.A. Cup which means a lot to the club having been past winners. I'd like to see a nice positive line up tomorrow. Certainly, not the usual 4-2-3-1 normally played every week. 4-3-3 or 3-5-2. Play Hawkins with Pitman for a change to see if they can play together. We certainly don't need to play 2 holding midfielders tomorrow.

We’ll never know! Good finish from Thompson though. Should settle the nerves. They’ll have to be more open 2nd half so I hope we take our chances. We may need to score again.

Think the best adjective to use to describe that game is ‘professional’. That’s been us all season, not pretty but do a job.

Enjoyed seeing Linvoy on the box. Also nice that people are starting to say nice things about Pompey again.
