Played 12 minutes of first team football this season for Bristol City. Picked up an injury but has been fit for the last few games.

I can see us going in for him in January for a short term loan. Jackett clearly wanted him and he may be the final piece of the jigsaw for our promotion.

A third of the season gone, and he might have played 12 minutes for us also.
We avoided the huge transfer fee, the large wages and 12 minutes of Mo Eisa.
A good decision by our board.
Best to avoid him in Jnauary, too

[^]On loan is a good call as we're lacking a consistent goal scorer. Pitman for some reason isn't doing it this season so why not.

BV,I don't recall our board pulling out of the deal, indeed we were prepared to pay big money for him. He went to Bristol City because presumably they offered him better wages.
I don't think we can claim credit for a good decision to miss out on him.

Its good to see Hawkins putting more chances away now. Hopefully he'll continue to improve as he has been.

You can never have enough decent strikers at a club. Pompey have got over a million quid burning a hole in their pocket. Given the fantastic start to the season, a fresh striker signing could be the difference between 1st and 3rd. Id expect Jackett to be in the market for a striker in Jan.
