How would you fit arguably our best player so far this season in Curtis into a 352? Not convinced we have the personnel for that formation. Struggling to see the wing backs or how you fit Lowe, curtis and even Evans into that side? Just my opinion as I'm a big fan of the formation normally.

I wouldn't make a change in formation @ home, its more about making fast starts. Do that & jobs a good un.

Why on earth did they give the job to Kenny?

Jacketts doing a fantastic job,but he has talked about a system change at home,so perhaps he might be thinking 2 upfront.

Burgess could play at home but maximum from the start 70 minutes to avoid, well we know what.

But i woud keep with the current back four. Give Ben Thompson a start and get Jamal, Curtis and Pitman/Olly Hawkins to play the Land oF Confusion that servered us so well earlier in the season at Fratton when they no one knew what was going to happen next apart from a Pompey goal

I guess we could look at the formation England used in the world cup which was a 5221/343 type.

McGill
Thompson whatmough Clarke
Evans Thompson Naylor brown
Lowe pitman Curtis

I can't see a lot wrong with that.

Except playing a right-back in central defence, a midfielder at right wing back, a left back at left wing back and a target man that can't hold up the ball or 'work the channels'*, obviously.

*stupid phraseology.

Not convinced it's our system. Listening to one of players after the Gills game saying they put the ball in the box 80 times and should have at least got on the end of a couple of them. I think he's right we have players in that system that do get forward, do get in the box and we should have made it count.

Possibly a 41212 (442 diamond) with mason behind Hawkins and pitman. Naylor sitting behind Lowe and Curtis out wide. However Close is looking good on the ball of late and I donít see him fitting a formation without a partner for him in midfield.

Only 2 teams in Div 1 have won more games than us at home this season.
(Luton and Burton who have each won 1 more game than us)

If we were being picky we could mention that we have played Ply /Ox / Shrews /Wyc / Gills who are all in bottom few places so we should have won most of those games and only on 2 of them.

Like your formation SDB Blue. Naylor or Close who ever's in form. We don't need 2 holding midfielders at home unless it's against a really in form attacking team.

Not too shabby is it really!
Anybody moaning about the position we're in right now has got to be a bit of a cuunt.

Home form feels bad because the last 3 games have not been great. Kenny has built the team round the system we play. I would play Ben Thompson at home, he's more creative.

I bet KJ quotes that next post-match
