Away day at Borough predictition

Well since we have to prove a point to Tommy that when we talk football here its all pretty boring here is my take on Saturday and should also be confirmation, if it is ever needed, this board is better without football talk.

We will fall on our faces. I feel a thumping coming. Posh have home advantage, a better squad and score goals for fun.

We on the other hand do not play scintillating football, true we are difficult to break down and we do have some pace up front to augment the big bean pole. However we do not retain possession of the ball as well as a side should do if they have geniune ambitions to finish in top 2 and a i feel that in midfiled even now we are lacking.

Good enough for top 6 and play-offs , yes most definately, good enough for top 2 I am yet to be convinced.

Posh will rip us a new one I feel a 3 or 4-1 thrashing coming along Saturday.

We’re quite capable of winning this game but also qhite capable of getting smashed to pieces. It all hinges on if if Naylor & Thompson can get stuck in & hold the ball, retain possession.

My heart says 1-1 or 2-2 head says 2-1 or 3-1 loss.

It'll be a good game and could end up 3-2 either way. We need to get behind the team and not have any negative thoughts. Curtis back in the team will hopefully make a huge difference.

paying on the counter attack is our best chance Curtis and Lowe with Hawkins will cause panic for everyone including us so I would hope we stick away our chances.

This isthe goal machine side of the division so don't need to say the bloddy ovious to the defence . Good luck boys

Would be happy with a draw so I'll predict 1-1.

From League One onefootballforum it seems as though Peterborough usually have less possession and less shots than their opponents yet manage to grind out results:

Bristol Rovers (Home)
Possession: Posh 53% - B.Rovers 47%
Total Shots: Posh 6 - B.Rovers 16
Score: Posh 2-1 Bristol Rovers

Rochdale (Away)
Possession: Rochdale 54% - Posh 46%
Total Shots: Rochdale 8 - Posh 8
Score: Rochdale 1-4 Posh

Luton (Home)
Possession: Posh 43% - Luton 57%
Total Shots: Posh 11 - Luton 21
Score: Posh 3 - 1 Luton

Charlton (Away)
Possession: Charlton 50% - Posh 50%
Shots: Charlton 13 - Posh 11
Score: Charlton 0-1 Posh

Plymouth (Away)
Possession: Plymouth 59% - Posh 41%
Shots: Plymouth 22 - Posh 11
Score: Plymouth 1 - 5 Posh

Doncaster (Home)
Possession: Posh 45% - Doncaster 55%
Shots: Posh 10 - Doncaster 23
Score: Posh 1 - 1 Doncaster

Southend (Away)
Possession: Southend 50% - Posh 50%
Shots: Southend 18 - Posh 9
Score: Southend 2-3 Posh

Average Possession in each game: Posh 46% - Opposition 54%
Total Shots Posh have had: 65 (19 Goals)
Total Shots Opposition have had: 121 (7 Goals)

This game might upset them then. If our midfield keep giving them the ball, it might tire them out.

So 10 forecasts and no-one’s predicting a Pompey win.
Posh have spent £2 million on new players including Ivan Toney so are aiming to buy promotion with 17 new players.
We’ve spent £100,000 and are probably in a false position having played mostly bottom of the table teams.
But it’s still 11 v 11 and I can sense an upset in this game.
So I’m going for a 2-1 win for Pompey.

I reckon a two-nil win. Less worried about this game than I was Shrewsbury. Peterborough are clinical, but don't create many chances, and they concede a lot of opportunities. Reckon we'll be okay.

I'd play Pitman up front for this one, and then stick on Hawkins second half if we need him. I'd also put Mason in for Evans.

Mason for Evans, everyone entitled to there opinion but that's ludicrous.
Also its not even like for like, Evans has been superb.
I fancy a good old 0-0.

Best case scenario. Posh keeper sent off after 60 minutes with the score at 0 -0. Pompey score from the subsequent penalty and win 1 - 0. TV replay shows the referee got the decision wrong. Steve Evans is so incensed that he has a stroke live on TV during the post match interview.

and since bpay thinks Ollie Hawkins is a brilliant striker you should listen to him because he obviously knows what he’s talking about.
Although, and I hate to say this, I do agree with him on this why the fvck would you take Evans out of the team right now ffs.

Saveloy son, can you deny that Hawkis hasn't been impressive this year with link up play to Curtis and Lowe and we look a better team with him in the side?
Just my opinion mate.
Glad we agree on Evans ;)

I fancy a pompey win. Sit deep soak up pressure like we seem to do so well them hit on the counter with Lowe and Curtis. Pitman to get a double and remind the division why he's the best goalscorer in the league.

Could work with that line up, I would want Pitman on for the pen that we are going to get. For Evans Boro will target to neutralise as he is naturally defensive and if we get overrun in the midfield for periods he will drop deeper and deeper.

Tomorrow he will not be able to do the classic no 10 as our counter play has to be on fast gounter attack to get the goals we will need to haul this one over the line.Boro good team but we stand 3-1-3 WDL withthem so a classic "it vould go either way"

And finally it is miles better that we are playing at their place ratherthan at home as PFc fans and players are more "liberated" to go for it big time.

A fast Pompey start and a Curtis goal to the good and they will rock. Then hold on until we get the pen. For some reason I also believe we are feted to get a refs decision. Then a mistake, just the one by an unnamed defender with a pony tail leaves us protecting the Alamo.
In this the unnamed ponytailed defender is a feckin rock!
Posh 1-2 Pompey

Well done Prozac and well done me.
We both forecasted 2-1 to Pompey amid a myriad of those expecting a defeat.
Oh, and for the Tafkandr, it was 3 shots on goal for Peterborough compared with Pompey’s 6 shots on goal.
That translates fairly as a 1-2 scoreline.

Fantastic result!!!! We looked in control for pretty much all of the game until we cheaply gave the ball away for their goal.

Link up play was good. We are fast and strong which should be a handful for any team. I thought Shrewsbury, Luton & Donny all played better than ‘boro so would expect those teams to be sniffing around towards the end of the season.

I am glad my forecast is its usual rubbish.

Master stroke KJ putting close in for Thompson.

Also seems hawkins had a great game just seen Jamal'S goal and Hawkins skill in the build up was very very impressive. Maybe he is not the donkey some have promoted?

But, instead of looking up, we are looking down!
