So as we all wait with baited breath what's happening out there in Transfer Land? No. 1 target Eisa fell through so let's move on. We reportedly have up to £1.5M to spend on an out & out goal scorer. The season starts shortly & the transfer window closes. We desperately need someone proven to score 20 goals + to partner Pitman in attack. Suggestions please & has KJ lined up a back- up or are we ending up like the January transfer window with nothing concrete in place?

Still can't see an experienced out and out striker coming to sit on the bench unless we play Pitman off of him. unless we are going to change the way we play, which might be possible as Jackett is less stubborn than Cook regarding formation.

Stubby - just passing on what he's said. It was in relation to Devante Cole, apparently Wigan were paying high wages in League One, and we're presumably not willing to break our wage structure for him. With Eisa, although he was pricy, I'm sure he would be cheap wages.

So another one falls through the net! Is our playing budget the same as last year which wasn't enough? If we can't pay decent wages we won't attract the best players. Wigan were paying over the odds last season but had their parachute payment.

.Done a bit of research & a few cheaper options:
Billy Kee - Accrington - 25 Goals last season & priced at £315K & on low wages No doubt. Back Ups: Hylton & Collins - Luton, Stockley - Exeter & Dennis Chesterfield. The other option is a loan from a Premier or Championship Club. We need someone at the Chelsea training ground just up the A3 at Cobham. They will have so many young quality players going out on loan so let's get at the front of the queue. 9 Days to go!

So lets be realistic right, how easy is it just to go and buy a 20 goal a season striker and you have no competition and the club just sells to you.

In regards to the person 'spend big' get promoted, 'spend big' get to the prem, I take it you have only been a fan for a couple of seasons and forget that we were nearly non existent for those exact reasons?

the new owners have come in and they are doing it properly, if its over budget it doesn't happen! We only get what we can afford.
We have had a great summer, I honestly think we don't need to add to it.. if the right striker is available at the right price and wages then in they come, but I think Chaplin can do just as good as job as the names coming in.

BPay I need to correct you on your very wrong assumption. I have been following the club through thick & thin for the past 50 years!
My point is that if they can find another striker who is a prolific goalscorer at a lower level they need to get the deal done before the start of the season. They've obviously got the cash to go to £1M+ if the right player is out there so let's get the deal done asap. If Pitman gets injured we are up the swanny & No Naismith who could have scored some important goals. Chaplin is a very good young player but doesn't score enough simple as that. 8 Days to go & clock is ticking!

The whole situation has dragged on abit now. Let's not have another January midfielder fiasco. Get a striker in. There's plenty out there that fit the mould kenny wants. My one issue with Jacketts tenure is the inability to just get buisness done swiftly. It could have all been sorted out weeks ago. Instead we took an age on Eisa (maybe if we offered the asking price instead of angling for a good deal we wouldn't be in this position) and now we seem to be dragging out whomever it us we are looking at

With Lowe missing for a few games we certainly are short of goalscorers. If BP doesn't hit the net it's not easy to see where the goals come from, although i admit to knowing nothing yet about the new signings. Let's assume BP scores 15 this season, which would be a decent return, we need about an extra 20 from somewhere to put us in the frame I reckon. Hoping for one more signing to get us up and running.

No problem BPay. I think Bulc's comment was very tongue in cheek though. Tampon, thoroughly agree transfers should have been sorted out ages ago. Not sure it's KJ's fault as he identified who he wanted but the owners didn't want to pay the £1.5M which could prove to be a bargain price. Our problem already identified is that we are unable to pay top wages. Loan signings look the way to go & Longstaff sounds a good acquisition. Loan agreements can be expensive if the player is on good wages. 5 Days to Kick Off Tick Tock.

I thought the side today showed we are prepared to go places, be difficult to break down, that the manager isn't scared to drop his captain.

All good things.

We conceded from an OG after a lump in the box but otherwise it is early days and the fitness will come.

What a find Curtis looks to be. We've got two Jamal Lowes now, already had a decent centre half pairing. If we get Pitman fit and in the side, we're only one player away (centre mid) from a side which will keep the automatic promotion hopefuls honest.

Our midfield was carp today and their players ran through it time and again.
We are riding our luck at the mo.
The football we are playing is awful.
That is why Pitman will be asking to leave. Just a thought. He hated it at Ipswich under mick McCarthy and why wouldnít he hate it here?
Subbed first game at halftime. Didnít make or play in the side today?
