Gin

I know its cool and trendy and everyone makes it these days. However I've always enjoyed a nice G & T, but have recently discovered blood orange gin. Ok its a little bit gay ( but luckily I can pull it off), but it really is the canines testes.

Anyone else enjoy a tipple of mothers ruin or is it just me and my gay ( hard as fvck) mates. [:X]

Not for me.

Nothing good comes from drinking spirits.

Gin is fuucking horrible, fact.
And blokes who drink gin are raving gaylords, another fact.

There you go Ricky, that's the groundwork done for your next two Friday facts, nnttm.

Ricky does find a G&T rather refreshing.

Currently going through a bottle of Boatyard double gin - from your part of the world Bluetag.

The tonic is just as important as the gin though.

I do like a gin and tonic now and then but it has to be bog standard gin, bog standard tonic, a slice of lime and ice. All these faddy, poncey, new gins are all very well but theyíre just not gin [:D].

As for whiskey, you canít beat a nice malt.

Tomsk, sounds like youíre missing out on some of lifeís pleasures mush.

Very true Ricky although fever tree is a bit of a rip off. Aldi sell a tonic that is packaged very similar to FT and is good if you can get it.

A nice summer drink is a JC ( loved by many a matelot in Gib) It's gin, plenty of ice, angostura bitters, lime juice, lemon juice and topped up with soda.

Boatyard is nice and also from that part of the world Shawcross gin is nice, however, I would give Jawbox a miss.

Wot Gaff said....

I actually think I like the tonic better than the gin. Gin on its own is farking vile!

I have found I can't have more than a couple of days on the stuff, or I get a right cop on. I have found that I can drink a surprising amount of it without having a hangover the next day. I find that a very attractive quality in a drink. Definitely like it with bitters in.

Oh and I'm 99% hetero!

I like a G&T every now and again but can only have one as it gives me a headache real quick.

I'm starting to enjoy Whisky a little more now, although Rum is still my drink of choice. Kraken is number one, followed by Doorlys if the establishment provides it.

Now, if you said Irish whiskey then Iíd agree. Itís much smoother and with a Ďdropí of water, very palatable.

Feckin Ďmaltsí indeed!😏

Cunning - there's some science behind the fact that clearer drinks give you less of a hangover, and it's certainly Ricky's experience. Gin and white wine will give you less of a hangover than Guinness and red wine.

Ravi - your taste buds deffo change as you get older, couldn't touch whiskey before 30, now love the stuff.

Bluetag, the JC sounds very refreshing

Ricky's with Prozac on the whiskey, take a blend over a single malt any day

Gaffer there is a really good whisky shop in Brighton who after you describe your tastes presents you with several options.
Itís not cheap but by god, itís XXXXXX worth it.
Next time youíre down there check him out, shouldnít be to hard to find the address online

Gaffer I like your gin drink with ice and lime but like cunning a little angostura bitters finishes it Ďproper likeí!

If you want to understand a true scotch then I suggest you look online for a
Bruichladdich Black Art 24year old bottle.
It isnít cheap but the packaging and bottle is stunning in itself let alone the scotch which I have never had anything like before or since.
Those with a few bob spare (£250) and an enjoyment of real scotch wonít find many if any better (imo).

Try Absinthe, it's got a nice peppermint and petrol taste to it, and you can run you car on it, if the fuels low. Also it can cause hallucinations. Although nothing beats a pint of Stella at the end of a hard day.

Rick had proper absinthe back in rural Czech Republic back in the day, interesting experience, managed not to cut ones ear off.

And as for booze in general, it's a truly wonderful thing,

Cold beer after a day at work

The warm glow that spreads over you after a drop of whiskey

A glass of red on a cold winters night in front of the fire

Refreshing G&T over plenty of ice on a warm summers afternoon

Any country where the above is illegal is.....well, uncivilised to say the least.

Can't say I've ever tried absinthe.
Don't like beer, can't stand whiskey, don't generally like red wine, G&T is horrible and for girls and gaylords.
I do however like a good hetero cider, and a very manly nice white wine or even a macho glass of bubbly.
