can't say I'm much of a fan of home friendlies. A road trip to Wymouth was fun one year, partly cos we could go and sit/stand pretty much where we liked and pop into and out of the bar. Having said that, a Liverpool friendly attracted me to my first game as an adult which led on to many years of support, so I guess they do fulfill a role.

Catlin has said we are closing in on a home friendly but the problem nowadays is premier league clubs want big fees just to turn out in a friendly.

if we have to pay, stuff em. Make it clear to fans that is the reason for not playing a friendly and then put out strong teams in the various cups so we get to play them in a proper game.

Away friendlies at the likes of Bognor, Salisbury and Woking are a fun day out... I certainly couldn't be bothered to go to FP to watch them though.

Away friendlies - they pay you. Home friendlies - you pay them. That's why we're always away. Most league clubs with good followings are the same.

Fulham is perfect. A good footballing side who we are at least in the ball park for playing. They provide a good away following. Wonít cost the world and will interest the natives here.
