Bradford away @Odsal 1985

Was just making my Bradford travel plans for Tuesday. Does anybody who was there at Odsal (Rugby ground) in 1985 (lost 2/1) it was the year after the fire remember that Danish lad Tommy Christensen scoring what we thought was an equaliser only for the ref to blow for full time as the ball crossed the line?

Also as i remember you had to run uphill to take a corner!

Happy days gone by hoping Saturday sets up Tuesday ...PUP

He had a song and he only played three times for us.

One month contract I believe.

Different times. No mobile phones, no babies, no women.

He also scored a pretty good goal when we won 3-1 at Roker.

Never really understood, after he scored two goals in three games, why we didn't sign him up full time instead of struggling on with Channon, Nicky Morgan and Paul Wood.

If that Bradford goal was given it would have been 3 in 3.

You wonder if we would have done something for the rest of the season for him and we would have had another legend on our hands [sad]

Similar to Phil Ashworth. 4 goals in 4 games - including an absolute wonder goal against Bradford and he's off.

Maybe it's not seeing eye to eye with the manager.

Ashworth went to Scunthorpe the following season and only managed 3 in 23.

To be fair that absolutely would have qualified him for a contract with us, XXXXXXing awful return [:D]

I've just done some more reading on TC and it seems he got injured after the Hull game and Morgan came back in for the next game.

Apparently Tommy was injury prone and it finally did for his career, even in Denmark, by 89.

And as we'd already had all of Morgan's goals for that season we then waited for Quinn to be signed before missing out on promotion again.

Oh Tommy Tommy, .....
