Loosing to probably the best team in the division is No disgrace but I believe subs should have been made earlier. Kennedy brought on in the 3rd minute of extra time what was that all about! He should have been given at least 15-20 minutes.

Did we XXXXXX.

Second best to every 50/50 ball. Almost no ariel power. They upped their game when they wanted/had to.

The difference between where we want to be and where we are was right there on the pitch.

Let's face it we're not good enough simple as that. The owners aren't prepared to invest in the squad & gave KJ a pathetic budget of only 3M. We won't make top six unless we go on a run & others slip up badly.

I cant understand why skme fans expected us to get in the play offs . Look at our squad compared to others .

I don't think it's a pathetic budget, if that's all we can afford.

We are what we are. This squad will get better.

I'd rather spend three years in league 1 than over spend chasing promotion. I believe the football bubble will burst within the next ten years and im glad our owners are living within our means

with you there Kent. I'm just hoping the clubs doing it properly can hang in long enough to see the wheel turn. Just the money that goes to agents would allow most clubs to be run solvently.

We have the most inconsistent side I can remember. Not a week goes by and you wonder who is gonna turn up. Unfortunately we are simply not good enough, which is a shame. We cant defend against teams who have 5 shots all game and on the flip side we cant score when we have 3 times or more shots than the opposition. Basically we are weak.

Thought Blackburn showed they are a class above most were playing Championship last season.First half their passing often turned us inside out, interpassing in attack with 3/4 players always available quick breaks and cut the defence like hot knife through butter at times Thankfully as others have said Mcgee was there.
I know we havent budget to spend but wish we spent more time playing football rather than Kjs hoofball which the opposition always seem to win the headers and come straight back at us.Not looking for promotion but as I said football please

Blackburn were fortunate with their last goal but, they were sharper and quicker than us in midfield.
If they do get promoted they have to strengthen, because their defence looked dodgey IMO. PUP

I watched the game and Blackburn were better, but we were no disgrace. The difference in class showed but we have to accept that..for now

When we hit League 2 we thought we would bounce up until we were trounced by Oxford 1-4 at home. Four years of rebuilding finally got us moving up again, so for this season I would love the play offs and we might get there.

Tonight all the talk was gloom and doom on Radio 5 for teams like us in League 1 and 2. All of the teams there strangled by 24/7 prem and champions league they said. Consider this evening they continues even teams like luton will have their gates down 25% cos everyone wants to watch Spuds at Juve in the warm on the telly at home with their super premium rip off Sky Football packages.

Err nope 18,200 at Fratton 820 Blackburn fans? well if this stat was true there would have been 4,500 locked out on a non Champions night, sure clubs who have spent heavily and borrowed to get players may be sweating in average 4-6K crowds but the Pompey policy (Eisner) is actually a sustainable one and not panicing is the way forward.

Spot on frosty. Midfield is where we are losing it every week, Lowe Evans and Close are not strong enough for this league we are getting bullied every week. What we need is a Michael Doyle type in there to ruffle a few feathers let other teams know we are not going to roll over but instead put up a fight.

In work today and my Blackburn mates reckon Pompey are the worst team they have played this side of Christmas, they don't think we have a snowballs chance of the play offs.......stability for me and I'm happy.

The truth is we were totally outclassed. Blackburn are streets ahead of everyone else we've seen and showed our midfield to be weak and lacking creativity. But we know this and we know we are a work in progress so it's not an issue. In a year's time it might be if we haven't recruited wisely. We need a midfield general and a creator. Not easy to find! How bad was Burgess? How slow is Pitman!

we are inconsistent, we are blooding a lot of youngsters this season, so no surprise there. For the long run, Close and Haunstraup have moved forward big time. Chaplin might finally have cracked playing for most of a game. Lowe is still learning. Clarke looks the part and we know Pitman is good enough to be our top scorer over a full season. McGee will be good enough especially with a reserve good enough to push for his place.

It was men and boys last night.

The boys did ok, at times, but they were up against a class act. They will learn from it and I'm convinced that they will improve.

The playoffs seemed a very long way off last night.
