We likely to receive a fine for the number of flares thrown onto the pitch Saturday?

Personally haven't got a problem with them, spices up the atmosphere a little bit, didn't go Saturday so only going from videos and what people have said.

We've had them at games before and have never had a fine as far as I'm aware. Let's be honest, illegal or not they seem to turn up at a lot of games nowadays and don't hear about many teams getting fined for it.

until the club and some fans get fined/banned there will be a gradually increasing number of them as copycats join in. And no doubt the number of tickets available will be reduced at away games. The licencing authorities and police make and enforce the rules. Like it or not, that's the law, and for very good reason where crowds, wooden stands and youngsters are concerned.

A quick glance at the burning temps of both should enlighten you then! Get it?
Actually the smoke bombs would be lucky to leave any mark where they are on the ground whereas a flare burns phosphorus at nearly several hundred degrees!
Altogether different

They shouldn't get through the search outside the stadium and no one should be stupid enough to take them let alone throw them. I really didn't understand throwing them more or less at our keeper and blocking his view of the next attack with smoke. Fine is inevitable. Find the culprit(s) and make them pay it.

I don't mind the odd smoke bomb, but probably better to enhance the atmosphere with a couple more original songs and maybe a few more flags. That generic ner, nerring has gone on for at least a decade too long now.

Or try bowls, there are some nice bowling greens in Pompey which would be perfect for timid little fairies like you.

Pyrotechnics at football matches don't bother me at all.

I particularly like the Italian authorities attitude to them which is they are illegal but we ain't gonna do anything go right ahead.

It's precisely because they see it going on abroad that they think it should be fun over here.
What they don't realise is we have a lot of old style wooden staging/stands in this country.
Most abroad are concrete.

Another Bradford just waiting to happen.

I'd have thought MK Dons should get the fine, if anyone, for letting the thing into the ground.

But the bloke was arrested so presumably he will get the fine or ban and that's all that is needed IMO.

Who remembers that Pompey Loon years ago that regularly used a flare gun? I'm surprised no one was killed. Saying that I think a few fans up & down the country who weren't sparking in all 4 plugs had them. The type of non-firearm flares used at matches are much safer, however feel like we are trying to copy the European clubs, rather than doing our own thing.

A flare killed a 13 year old kid in an Espaņol match against Cadiz in Barcelona some years ago. He was sitting on the opposite side of the ground and the flare hit him straight in the chest and got stuck there. Another caused a stampede which killed 80 in a Boca Juniors match as people thought it was a fire. Flares a definite no-no IMO.
