Yeh, that one was a bit odd. I know it's a reference to the shipping code for Portsmouth harbour & the origins of Pompey but still, a bit weird.

Overall I thought these shortlist designs were much more paletable than the original set.

A or B for me look to be the most suitable.

It has to be A out of these designs but I bet the 1 in 1898 ends up looking like a 7. Iíd be really happy with the 80sí anchor and dagger one. I guess we might already own the copyright to that too. It may well be nostalgia as itís the badge I first knew and grew up with, but I have always thought the star and crescent to be a tad too basic (I like the origin though).

A or B for me too, but would prefer both without the unnecessary circle in the star.

Pom.P must surely be a misprint ??

Itís the circle that gives it the ability to be copyrighted, but yes it certainly looks out of place.

I think the Pom.P is actually quite cool.

It's an abbreviation of 'POrtsMouth Point' - which used to be written in the ships log when entering the harbour.

So the badge effectively says Pompey and also references the navy connection and some real history.

I really can't believe Eisner would have misspelled this.

Clearly option C is there for one precise reason... hoodwink the Scummers into thinking they can influence our crest design.

Anyone who votes for C will be ignored.

I personally think 'Pompey' would be far better than 1898

Loads of clubs in the world have got dates on their badges.

If they take any notice of the online survey it could easily get hijacked. Hand out a form for all season ticket holders and let them decide, no one else should really have a say.

Considering the origins of the club are actually army based, I couldn't give a stuff about any naval reference.

Does anyone else like the 80s anchor and sword in rope circle badge? I think itís the best by a nautical mile.
