My ratings
McGee 6. Couple of decent saves but a bit of a howler for their 1st and could have done better with the 2nd
Thompson 8 MOTM. Solid at the back, bombed forward well
Donohue 7. Another decent performance.
Clarke 7. Sloppy for their equaliser, but good other than that
Burgess 7.5. Back to his best.
Lowe 5. Not much happened for him at all.
Kennedy 5.5. Got in some good positions but did little with it.
May 6.5. Battled away and got an assist.
Close 6.5. Kept us ticking over.
Putnam 3. Dreadful.
Hawkins 7. Good goal, led the line pretty well.

Difficult to play decent football in an awful pitch. We had a few decent chances at 1-0 and a draw probably would have been a fair result, but in the end our players were knackered and our long injury list took its toll.

I'd agree with that [^] our away form ain't great but as you say, the pitch and injury list didn't help at all.

I never went to the game, but Knight said on the radio that as soon as Pittman went off, the game changed - and he was responsible for orchestrating the team and it's shape.

I thought at the time that this was a rather interesting comment.

Gilles, bit unfair on Kennedy I feel. he beat his man almost every time and put in some decent crosses.

Donohue played well against Northampton but had little or no defending to do. When he was called upon to defend and stop crosses and shots again he proved that he is no defender. I feel we will miss Haunstrup greatly as he suffers his turn in the left back injury curse.

Some people on this site looked back three levels of play to blame Brandon for goals at Shrewsbury, you don't need to look too far for Donohue's clear mistakes.
