Is it best for team at the mo Clarke stay as a left back?

With the emergence of Hawkins as a decent centre back, and McCrory permanently injured, is it best Clarke play at left back for the mo? He certainly did not look out of place against Blackpool.

I thought he looked average and was poor on the first goal. Did not look comfortable with A lively winger.
Excellent centre back.
I think we have Burgess and him, Hawkins as back up, plus Jack W to c9me back. Sounds good. Haunstrup needs more game t8me.

For me he is head and shoulder's above the other centre halves, so would far rather see him in the middle with Haunstroup given another run in the side.
The biggest problem has been a soft centre to midfield allowing teams to run at our defence. If Hawkins is to play at the back, maybe Burgess could push up to defensive mid or the Beckenbaur sweeper role if you prefer.

In an emergency maybe, but there is no future in playing him at left back as he is a centre back and will always be a centre back. Far better to be giving Haunstrup the experience to improve, or Donohue for bit more experience.

Clarke got seriously exposed by the sub at Blackpool and a weakness against pace like that would soon be picked up by all opponents.

Burgess is a goal waiting to happen, i have been saying for the last two seasons he should play defensive midfield, there he can win headers make a tackle and distribute and probably weigh in with 5 or 6 goals in the season. If he loses the ball in the centre circle he will have defenders behind him to mop up. KJ call me anytime for more advise, it's Pompey so it's FOC

Clarke is a centre back so should remain there as he is very good in that position. I wold like to see Haunstrup played at left back again, apparently this season is about getting our youngsters game time and I think young Brandon is a decent player.
