Have there been any good Chinese owners so far in our leagues?

Probably too early to speculate but, with all inter company debts paid off and an 80% ownership purchased, all ratified and cleared to pass the relevant legal terms, it seems to be good business for all parties. The days of "secret sheiks" thankfully, are long gone.

The current owner has just had a nice little Chinese takeaway.

Since 2010 she has made 140 million profit - which equates to 20 million per year, and she still owns a 20% stake - presumably to smooth the owner transition over (but more likely so she can get a wedge of the Van Dyke deal - which she will likely want to see pushed through)

All those players, all that money - just what did her family achieve? - apart from the 140 million?

Although the relevant authorities couldn't agree a purchase of the club by Lander Sports, the purchase by Gao and family seems to deemed agreeable to all parties. As I am sure we are all aware, the due diligence on any purchase of football clubs is far better investigated than in the past. The trials and tribulations of the ownership of Portsmouth Football Club, and its subsequent reincarnations, has in no small way ensured this to be the case. Which can only be seen as a good thing, surely?

All due dilligence does is weed out absolute crooks, and I'm not sure it even does that very well as the supporters of Orient, Leeds and several other clubs will testify.
Crooked outfits awash with funny money will use straight fronts to beard for them and the FL is clueless in dealing with it.

The mention of Orient, and the shambles over recent years, is a personal grievance to me. Happily, another owner, passed via past lax diligence, is no more. Although a transitional time, the likes of these unpropitious owners will become a distant memory. For the good, as I am sure you will agree.

I'd say 6-1 to a Parks team was a bit more than unfortunate.

Fascinating article earlier in the year about their new owner.

It seems the roles have been reversed, and we have an above board new owner, and the scumpties have a dodgy new owner

The key question is - will their team be getting a lethal injection of cash, or was that just the Chinese politician previously involved with Gao

Well you know how it is with anything Chinese; initially the prospect is full of eastern promise, appears to work well for a short time, but ultimately fails falling short of your expectations and you find their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Think we are clutching at straws here. Can't imagine this bloke is half as bad as the Russians in the prem or those Arabs who have fleeced their people's natural resources and XXXXXXed it up the wall on Ferraris, football clubs and western hookers.

A bit like the food from our local chinky - we smelt the odour when we first walked in and thought "lovely" - but in fact it always seemed to turn out "wubbery"

I see their owner didn't have his own cash - and now has to service a rather big loan- most of the 200 million

Link: Nanyang Commercial Bank loan - most of the 200m

has the realisation dawned yet that the new owners will use club funds to repay the debt not compete with Newcastle et al for 'b' level players?

I am trying very hard to see why Chinese business men would want to become involved in an English football club.
