Jermaine Pennant is a Pompey player, and will make his debut against Swansea in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The right winger has signed for Pompey from Liverpool on loan until the end of the season.

Now Tony Adams is likely to switch his attentions to securing a central midfielder, after moves for Gary O'Neil and Edu ran into brick walls.

The Liverpool man completed the move to Fratton Park this afternoon and is expected to go straight into the side to face Swansea City in the FA Cup this weekend.

Pennant started his career at Notts County before joining Arsenal as a 15-year-old for £2m where he played alongside Blues boss Tony Adams.

After joining Birmingham, Pennant moved to Liverpool for a fee of around £6.7m in July 2006 and was part of the side that lost to AC Milan in the final of the Champions League in 2007.

Having secured Nadir Belhadj already this January, Pennant becomes the club's second recruit of the January transfer window.
