Peter Crouch has been left out of the England squad again, but David James, Glen Johnson and Jermain Defoe all retain their places in Fabio Capello's squad for the fortcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Crouch's place goes to Emile Heskey, who was a scorer in Wigan's annihilation of Hull.

David James is likely to get the nod as the number one, although he may be pushed by Robert Green who had a good game, saving a penalty as West Ham beat Blackburn 4-1.

Johnson will probably be on stand-by for Wes Brown at right back, but Defoe - credited with two goals on Saturday it seems - probably did enough to earn a place in Capello's starting line up next week.
