Ronan Curtis admits it is a 'nightmare' being stuck at home and not being able to play football - but says the fight against coronavirus is more important.

The Republic of Ireland international is back in Portsmouth after a spell staying with his family in Ireland and says he can't wait for the day when he can get back to playing football and turning out for Pompey.

Curtis told 'We all miss it Ė players, staff and fans. But there are more important things at the moment and you only have to look at the NHS, who are working hard to save lives.

'Footballís a big deal and we want to be back playing, although we canít be doing that when people are still dying. Itís a nightmare to be stuck at home, but Iím doing okay. You just keep yourself to yourself and get on with it.

'Weíre still working hard to stay fit by doing training at home. Iíve been going on 5k runs and doing bike rides. Iíve got weights and some other equipment at my house, so you can still do workouts to keep in shape.

'Iíve just got back to the city and had gone home because it was easier to go out and exercise. There are so many people who know me in Portsmouth and you would have some trying to stop you and talk, which I obviously canít do at the moment.'
