Depending on which Sunday paper you read, and how much of what it contains you believe, you might be a little clearer about Pompey's summer shopping list.

Let's start, as so many shopping list stories do, with strikers and Harry Redknapp's search for the perfect partner for Jermain Defoe.

Chances of a bid for Peter Crouch seem to have increased with Redknapp reportedly saying talk he could leave Anfield for £10m instead of £15m is 'interesting'. If Liverpool brought down the price much more, Redknapp would be ready to pounce.

But if that one doesn't come off, could Redknapp instead turn to one of two other proven Premier League goalscorers who look like being up for grabs?

Ex-Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse may return to England after being left out of France's Euro 2008 squad. Newcastle, Blackburn and West Ham are said to be in the running, but expect Pompey to be added to that list as that story unfolds.

And Darren Bent is one of seven players about to be released by Spurs, say reports in north London. Bent fits the make-up of proven players seemingly past their peak who Redknapp would fancy squeezing a few more goals out of. To Emile Heskey, the same applies.

Kevin-Prince Boateng and Younnes Kaboul are two other players Juande Ramos might see interesting Pompey.

Still with strikers, and Hull are said to want David Nugent, who we're told is available for around £3m. Are Pompey ready to cut those sort of losses on a player who fans seem still to have patience with? Time will tell.

At the back, Pompey have emerged among the frontrunners in the signature for Richard Dunne. who is ready to leave Man City. Three selling points for Pompey in this one: a UEFA Cup campaign, David James and Sylvain Distin.

As we ventured last week, Pompey are now a club which available players will look to go to, rather than being one they'll go to if more desirable ones don't want them, which ought to put Redknapp in pole position to land Dunne.

More to come, we're sure, on these names and more this week - in the meantime, tell us which names you've heard being linked with Pompey - or which ones you'd like to be linked - on the messageboard, see links below.
