Heavy rain put paid to Pompey's League One clash with Notts County.

The pitch was deemed playable as late as 12.30pm but with heavy rain falling, and plenty more of it to come during the afternoon, the officials finally called it off when they had another look at 1pm.

It was no surprise, although the late call-off would have been a frustration to the Notts County fans who were already in Portsmouth and to the many home fans who needed to set off before the inspection.

No new date has yet been added and Pompey will be hoping the weather improves before any doubts can be cast on next week's visit to Scunthorpe.

Pompey are next due in home action on Jaunary 26 against Hartlepool.
