Pompey should get to Wembley more often. Judging by the speed at which tickets are selling, there's no end for the demand among Pompey fans - and maybe people who aren't Pompey fans - to see the Blues in action there.

The club said all 6,500 Wembley tickets that went on sale to supporters on Pompey’s database at 6am on Thursday were sold by 8.30am.

That leaves just 1,180 seats left for Pompey fans for the eagerly-awaited semi-final against West Brom, now just over a week away. These will go on sale from the club’s ticket office at 9am on Wednesday, April 2. They will be available to season ticket holders only and be limited to two per person.

Advice on www.portsmouthfc.co.uk is that supporters will be allowed to make only one transaction per customer. Ticket office staff will not accept multiple ticket applications. The ticket office will be open for semi-final tickets only on that day. Ticket office phone lines will be closed.

The bulk of the seats are left over from the first phase of ticket sales when 1,100 season ticket holders did not take up their option to buy a seat for Wembley. The remaining 80 are £99 Club Wembley seats that have been made available to Pompey fans following negotiations with Wembley. The tickets will be sold on a strictly first come, first served basis.

Meabnwhile, Kanu has called on his team-mates to keep their focus on the league for now as they try to keep up their hopes of finishing fifth.

The Blues are seven points behind Everton but this weekend sees Pompey at home to Wigan and Everton at Anfield. Kanu says a good finish to the season in the league can earn Pompey their muc sought-after first European spot regardless of what happens in the FA Cup.

We'll preview the Wigan game on this website on Friday evening.
