Pompey stage their creditors’ meeting on Thursday with Paul Groves admitting plotting the future of the squad is impossible until more is known about how their finances will pan out.

Hundreds of those owed money were due to pack into the Victory Suite under the Fratton End for the meeting, chaired by Andrew Andronikou with hopes high among fans that it will be an important step forward for the Blues.

Although there is no more news yet about Rob Lloyd’s group and their apparently imminent bid to take over, the administrators will hope to make progress on Thursday towards securing the Creditors’ Voluntary Agreement which could see the period of administration end and a further points deduction avoided.

But all the time uncertainty continues, assistant manager Paul Groves says it is impossible to plan ahead.

He said: ‘The club will get offers for good quality players who have done well this season.

‘But because of the finances of the club, that will dictate what will happen. It's something we don't have any control of and it's something we will have to accept.

‘From a planning point of view, it becomes very difficult. We don't know the size of the squad in trying to plan pre-season games or the amount of games or when.

‘That's something that we will have to deal with and will take care of itself. We've got enough on at the moment. It's just working one week at a time. After that, we will see where we are.’
