French champions Bordeaux discreetly enquired about the availability of Pompey defender Younes Kaboul this summer, but were put off by his 8 million euro price tag.

According to France Football, Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc saw the defender as a possible target, but in the end he signed Michael Ciani from Lorient.

Kaboul signed for Pompey from Spurs last summer, but he originally was at Ligue 1 side Auxerre.
