Northern Delights - Hyde & Beat and The Chapman Family confirm dates at The Georgian Theatre

Two of the North East’s shining lights have confirmed gigs at Stockton’s The Georgian Theatre this November.

Teesside’s The Chapman Family return to their spiritual home of the Georgian on Bonfire Night (Sat 5 Nov), rather apt for the band whose debut album is titled Burn Your Town.

The band are boasting a new and extended line up that not only features a new drummer, but a new guitarist as well, which has left front man Kingsley free to add keys to the bands already epic sound.

It’s been a hectic summer for the band who has been described by NME as 'Gloom-punk masterminds'; they played a string of top festivals this summer, including Teesside’s own Intro and Stockton Weekender as well as touring the country and parts of Europe.

Tickets are £4 in advance or £6 on the door and can be purchased from www.georgiantheatre.co.uk or call 01642 674115.

Sunderland super group Hyde & Beast make their Georgian Theatre debut on Fri 18 Nov. Formed by two drummers, Dave Hyde (Hyde) of Futureheads and Nigel Basset (Beast) of Golden Virgins, together they have made a magnificent record featuring Field Music’s David Brewis and solo artist Lucas Renney.

Inspired by the music Hyde & Beast love listening to, their sound recalls a golden age of mainstream pop meeting the sonic adventurism and kaleidoscopic music from the late 60s and early 70s, with more than a nod to the greats of that era Captain Beefheart, Velvet Underground and T Rex.

After a summer of festivals, gigs, and mass hype the band perform in Stockton for the first time. A not to be missed gig

Support is offered up by Bird Island, who continue the drummer turn lead singer theme as former Jimmy & The Sounds man Alistair Henderson takes lead vox for this darker twist on surf pop act.

Tickets are £7 in advance or £9 on the door and can be purchased from www.georgiantheatre.co.uk or call 01642 674115.
